Cannon Power Group Names New CEO

Cannon Power Group has appointed Michael Toke as its new CEO. Prior to his promotion, Toke served eight years as Cannon’s Senior Vice President and General Counsel. With over 13 years experience working in the wind energy industry, Toke will guide Cannon’s growth in the renewable energy industry.

Gary Hardke, Cannon Power Group President, says the company “is well positioned to enter the next chapter of its 30 year history – Michael is the right person to lead the company in the future. Our company’s project development and financing transactions have grown dramatically in recent years – both in volume and complexity – so a new CEO position will better lead and manage these growing demands. Michael will also continue to supervise the company’s legal affairs.”

Raised in Russia, Poland, and Germany, Toke attended law school at Cornell and after graduating worked with law firms in project and corporate finance and energy law. He is currently based in San Luis Obispo, California.

Toke says he is honored to lead Cannon. “What we have done during my eight years with the company alone is remarkable – all while remaining an independent company that provides clean renewable energy, green jobs and energy independence from foreign energy sources.”

Gerry Monkhouse, Chairman of Cannon Power Group adds, “We’re extremely proud of Michael and the rest of our management team. With their dedication and efforts, we have successfully completed quite a number of innovative and sophisticated transactions of well over a billion dollars in the past few years.”

San Diego-based Cannon Power Group’s most recent project is the 500 MW Windy Point/Windy Flats project along the Columbia River. In addition, Cannon and Gamesa Technology announced in May 2010 plans to develop a series of wind farms known as the Aubanel Wind Project in Baja California.
